The Upfit - a new adaptive outdoor structure

Upfit is an adaptive structure with a modern style and endless flexibility to transform spaces into small community hangouts that invite people to create experiences. Upfit transforms underutilised spaces on corporate, academic and healthcare campuses and within public and transport areas into sought-out destinations that provide power, light, surfaces and shelter from the elements - all the things people need to live, learn, work, care, play and travel outdoors. Upfit makes a place relevant, useful and enjoyable.

Customisable, Not Custom

Upfit’s post-and-beam system gives you the tools to create endless configurations based on your aesthetic goals, functional requirements and location. Upfit is scalable, making it easy for you to tailor your design to its purpose and use, from a simple single unit to a fully powered, illuminated and furnished multi-unit structure with louvered roof. Upfit can be embedded, surface-mounted and connected to buildings at ground level or on the rooftop.

Create Place

Panels provide enclosure, space division and functional choices appropriate for the project and site. Louvered panels angle to shade interiors. Slatted panels provide semi-private outer and interior division. Glass panels are offered in six colours and also act as markerboards. Green panels with wire screens create lush planted walls on the exterior and interior of an Upfit structure. In-line and peninsula tables attach to the structure to create working, reading and perching spots. An attaching bike rack is also available.

Manage The Weather 

The louvered roof system manages weather conditions and protection from sun, rain, snow and wind. The motorised system operates via switch, remote control or smart device app. Rain and wind sensors detect precipitation and close or excessive wind speed and open to minimize uplift. When the louvers are closed, rainwater is directed to a gutter system designed into the louvers that drains water through a post to the base of unit or into a prepared site drain.

Provide Power and Lighting

Extend Upfit’s hours of use with lighting and control options. Upfit posts and beams route electrical cables to power lights, display monitors, overhead fans and provide access points.
